Mobile Vehicle Mechanic (Covering East of Scotland) - Jarvie Plant Ltd
Join our growing team as a Mobile Vehicle Mechanic covering the East of Scotland. Based at Edinburgh depot (EH28 8LH) or Grangemouth depot (FK3 8ET), you’ll help keep our fleet moving, ensuring vehicles are safe, reliable, and ready for hire when our customers need them.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and repair issues on a variety of vehicles, both roadside and at customer sites.
* Carry out routine services like oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
* Address engine management, electrical systems, braking systems, and more.
* Ensure vehicles meet required standards and pass inspections.
* Test replaced parts to verify proper function.
* Comply with legal and safety regulations.
* Identify potential wear and tear during inspections.
* Work efficiently with team members to complete tasks on time.
* Report concerns to the Rentals Manager and/or Workshop Manager.
* Assist with workshop and depot repairs when needed.
* Deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism and care.
What Will Make You a Great Fit
* NVQ Level 2 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
* Proven experience in diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on multi‑fleet vehicles.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work efficiently.
* Attention to detail, ensuring vehicle safety and high‑quality work.
* Clear communication skills with both technical and non‑technical team members.
* Ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
* Proactive approach with a strong sense of responsibility.
* Comfort working independently and as part of a team.
* A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
N.B.: Applicants are expected to supply their own basic hand tools. Jarvie Plant will provide all necessary specialist tools, PPE, and branded workwear.
