With a global customer base spanning Australia, the US, and the EU, they're now building out a Belfast R&D function to develop the next generation of their software platform, with AI at the core of the architecture. The Role You'll be the second engineer on the Belfast team, working directly with the VP of Engineering. This isn't a role where you'll be handed tickets and left to get on with it - you'll co-own the full platform end-to-end, from architecture decisions and technology choices through to shipping production code across web, mobile, API, and cloud. As the team grows, you'll help shape how it operates. Key Responsibilities Build customer-facing web and mobile experiences using React and React Native (Expo) Design and implement APIs, data models, and cloud architecture on AWS (CDK, AppSync, Lambda, RDS, Aurora, S3, Cognito, IAM) Share live platform operations with the VP of Engineering, including reliability, performance, and on-call response Embed AI capabilities - LLMs, RAG, agentic patterns - into the product where they add genuine value Help define engineering standards, CI/CD pipelines, and observability practices as the team scales What You'll Need Essential 5 years' relevant software engineering experience Demonstrably strong TypeScript skills, ideally within React or React Native Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, ideally within AWS environments Right to work in the UK or Ireland Desirable Hands-on AWS experience, particularly serverless event-driven architectures CI/CD, deployment automation, and Git management Experience as a tech lead, or a clear interest in growing into one Benefits & Package Negotiable salary depending on experience Hybrid working - Belfast base with flexibility Direct influence over architecture, technology choices, and team culture Work on a product with real-world security consequences for critical infrastructure Early-stage team environment - high autonomy, high impact Get in touch with Colin directly at Skills: Typescript React AWS React Native LLM Benefits: Work From Home ADZN1_NI
