We are looking for an authentic, confident, experienced nurse to join our senior nursing team as a Deputy Director of Nursing in the Cancer & Surgery Clinical group.
Cancer and Surgery offers a breadth of opportunity for development, encompassing seven diverse operational directorates, driving the Cancer strategy and the Surgical strategy for the organisation, as well as the delivery of Haematology, ENT and Renal services within the Southeast.
We are seeking a senior nurse who will provide proficient leadership, guidance and pace to drive the groups response to the Nursing & Midwifery strategy and provide professional guidance and support to our nursing teams. The right candidate will be able to demonstrate insight and experience of multi-disciplinary working and decision making at senior leadership level, be people focused, collaborative in the delivery of change and have an in depth understanding and experience of human resource management.
We are looking for a senior leader who has the confidence and experience to work within an ever changing operational landscape while maintaining direction and focus on the Clinical group strategic objectives.
Main duties of the job
The Deputy Director will provide support to the Director of Nursing and the Clinical Group executive team in the delivery of its operational and strategic objectives. This role will hold accountability for a portfolio which will include patient experience, risk, governance and quality improvement. The deputy director role will share the group executive nursing portfolio with the embedded deputy, whose portfolio includes workforce and digital nursing, with an option to rotate portfolios for personal & professional development opportunities in the future. The role will include operational leadership as required and deputising in the absence of the Director of Nursing, working closely with site teams, corporate nursing teams across the organisation as well as multi-disciplinary colleagues.
This role is ideal for a senior nurse who has significant experience of working at Head of Nursing level who is seeking to develop into a Director of nursing role, you will gain experience in corporate and operational senior leadership and work alongside colleagues in strategic roles to develop your skill set.
