Senior Data Engineer. Location: Farnborough, Hampshire (flexible home working). Clearance: UK DV (must have lived in the UK for 10 years). Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + benefits.
We're looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a growing team working across critical UK sectors. You'll apply your software development and data engineering expertise to design, build, and support scalable, sustainable data solutions in the cloud.
Overview
Responsibilities
* Work as part of an Agile team of Data Engineers
* Build, maintain, and operate cloud-based data environments
* Debug and resolve data processing and analytics issues
* Develop data integration and processing pipelines
* Collaborate with engineering, testing, and DevOps teams
* Support migration of test and production data
* Provide Tier 3 operational support
What we're looking for
* Strong PostgreSQL administration and SQL programming skills
* Experience with AWS database offerings (e.g. RDS, Aurora)
* Background in resolving SQL performance issues
* Experience leading teams in Agile/Scrum environments
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable skills
* AWS Aurora / RDS managed databases
* Large-scale data migration experience
* Familiarity with Oracle, DB2
* Scripting (Python)
* AWS Data Migration Services (DMS) expertise
