We're looking for a Head Veterinary Nurse to lead our nursing team in our well-established, RCVS-accredited practice in Leyton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated RVN to take the next step in their career, overseeing the daily clinical operations and helping shape the future of our practice. Our practice is easily accessible from Essex and conveniently located next to Leyton Midland Road station, making commuting straightforward.
Your Role & Responsibilities
* Ensure the smooth running of the clinical day, leading and supporting the nursing team.
* Manage the rota, including holiday requests and return-to-work processes.
* Oversee nurse consultations, anaesthesia, and patient care.
* Work closely with the Clinical Director and Practice Manager to develop and grow the practice.
* Support the professional development of the nursing team, including schedule 3 procedures.
* Encourage CPD, with potential funding for certificates and additional learning opportunities.
A Rota That Works for You
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday with shifts between 7:45 am and 7:30 pm, including participation in a 1:4 Saturday morning rota. There are no out-of-hours or Sunday requirements. We are open to discussing part-time hours and flexible working arrangements to suit individual needs.
About Our Practice
Our Leyton practice has served the local community since the 1970s. We are equipped with a modern in-house laboratory, dedicated theatre, digital radiography, dental x-ray, and three consulting rooms. Our team includes four RVNs, two care assistants, five vets (including two part-time Clinical Directors), a reception team, and a Practice Manager. We are committed to providing high-quality veterinary care, supported by visiting specialists for complex cases.
