About the job: The role is to lead the Academic English Service at Queen's University Belfast. This will include developing and implementing programmes and services to support international students across the University to make the transition to the UK study environment. The programmes also help students acquire the academic English language and skills they need to succeed in their studies, across a range of degrees and levels. This post is based at Queen's University Belfast's Directorate of Student and Campus Experience (Student Affairs) and is co-funded by the Queen's International Study Centre (QISC). The role holder is line managed by the Head of Student Affairs at Queen's but will work very closely with the Academic Director at QISC on matters of teaching allocation and academic content. The team teaching on the programme are members of staff at QISC. About the person: The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria: A relevant postgraduate or professional qualification (e.g., TEFLQ, TESOL, PGCE). A minimum of four years' recent, relevant experience in the delivery of English language programmes, including planning, development, implementation and evaluation within an accreditation framework. Experience of leading teams and managing teaching staff, resources and budgets, maximising the efficiency of resources available within the agreed constraints. Experience of teaching international students in a post-compulsory education setting. Experience developing conceptual models for learning and assessing learner's needs, and translating these into innovative programmes and learning support. Experience working collaboratively to develop and implement strategy and policy, and meet agreed outcomes.
