The Engineering Team here at Zenith are proud to be partnering with our client who are looking for a skilled Manual Machinist to join their busy, quality‑driven team. If you love hands‑on machining and take pride in producing accurate, high‑spec components, this role puts your craftsmanship front and centre.
What You’ll Do
* Operate manual lathes (Trencin TOS, Boysenberry, Colchester, Laing)
* Machine steel, aluminium, brass and more to tight tolerances
* Read and work from engineering drawings
* Carry out precision turning, threading, boring and facing
* Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers and gauges
* Keep machines maintained and work safely
* Support production targets and complete accurate job records
What You’ll Bring
* Strong experience as a manual/conventional machinist
* Confident operating the listed lathes
* Excellent accuracy, dexterity and attention to detail
* Solid understanding of drawings and tolerances
* Team‑focused attitude with the ability to work independently
Experience
* NVQ Level 3 / Apprenticeship preferred
* 3+ years in a similar machining role
