Earthworks Supervisor - HS2 Location: HS2 Project (Birmingham / West Midlands) Job Type: Full-Time Rate: PAYE rate Basic £24.67 rising to £37.01 Dependant on Shifts/Overtime. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Earthworks Supervisor to join one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, HS2. The successful candidate will oversee large-scale earthworks operations, ensuring all activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and programme requirements. Key Responsibilities * Supervise daily earthworks activities including excavation, cut and fill, grading, embankments, and drainage works. * Manage site operatives, plant operators, and subcontractors. * Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. * Deliver daily briefings and toolbox talks. * Monitor progress against programme targets and report to site management. * Maintain accurate site records, inspections, and daily reports. * Implement method statements and risk assessments. * Coordinate plant, materials, and labour resources. * Promote a positive safety culture across the workforce. Requirements * Previous experience as an Earthworks Supervisor, Foreman, or General Foreman on major civil engineering projects. * Gold CSCS Supervisor Card. * SSSTS or SMSTS qualification. * Strong understanding of bulk earthworks operations and safe systems of work. * Excellent leadership and communication skills. * Experience working on major infrastructure projects such as rail, highways, or utilities is advantageous. * Full UK driving licence preferred.
