This is an exciting opportunity for a fully qualified CCAB/CIMA individual to join a core team within Finance, which is instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the accounting ledger, as well as the preparation of month-end and year-end accounts.
As the Assistant Head of Financial Accounting, you will be the lead point of contact for the Financial Accounting Team.
Main Duties
* Prepare the financial accounting information required for reporting to Welsh Government and Audit Wales.
* Responsible for the day-to-day cash management of the Health Board.
* Provide financial advice regarding the operations of the Health Board's Charity.
* Manage the day-to-day activities of the Financial Accounting Team.
* Maintain and foster excellent professional relationships and strong communication lines with internal departments and external partners, such as service providers and external auditors.
* Contribute to the positive culture, governance, and control environment of the team by maintaining high standards and leading by example, while developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
