Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Bricklayer/Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with bricklaying and masonry tasks, supporting various building projects, and ensuring the smooth operation of site activities. The successful candidate will be physically fit, reliable, and eager to develop their skills within the construction industry. Prior experience is not essential, but a willingness to learn and work safely is crucial.
Responsibilities
* Assist with bricklaying and masonry work under supervision, including mixing mortar and laying bricks or blocks accurately
* Operate hand tools such as trowels, hammers, and chisels to support construction tasks
* Use power tools safely for cutting, drilling, and shaping materials as required
* Support carpentry and roofing activities when needed, including handling materials and assisting with installations
* Aid in site preparation, including clearing debris and organising materials for efficient workflow
* Support welding tasks if required, adhering to safety standards at all times
* Ensure the work area is kept clean and organised to maintain a safe environment for all workers
Skills
* Proficiency with hand tools used in masonry and construction work
* Basic knowledge of bricklaying and masonry techniques
* Experience or familiarity with power tools such as drills, saws, and grinders
* Knowledge of carpentry principles beneficial for supporting various building tasks
* Ability to assist with roofing projects and handle roofing materials effectively
* Welding skills are advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is appreciated
* Good organisational skills with attention to detail
* Physically fit with the ability to perform manual labour over extended periods
