Scale 3 £25,657 / Scale 4 £26,399 per annum depending on experience


Job Type

35 hours per week, term time only plus 1 week (39 weeks per year), Permanent

About The Role

As Behaviour Support Worker your role will be to contribute to the daily provision of high-quality pastoral care. This includes monitoring standards and patterns of behaviour and discipline, attendance, and punctuality. You will need to have a good understanding of the schools behaviour policy and be able to support staff in implementing this.


You Will

* Supervise and monitor the movement of students around the site during lesson times returning students who are absent without permission to classrooms
* Supervise students across the site during lunch time
* Support the operation and monitoring of the Internal Exclusion and Restorative rooms as appropriate
* Support the effective operation of the on-call system to remove students from lessons as necessary
* Under supervision provide mentoring and tailored literacy and numeracy catch-up interventions which are evidence based and therapeutic to students on a 1:1 and small group basis


About You

* You should have level 2 qualifications or equivalent in English and Maths
* Youll need previous experience of working with children and young people
* You should also have a commitment to the schools Equal Opportunities Policy
* The ability to be able to lead 1:1 or group intervention sessions on behaviour would be an advantage
* Being able to speak an additional language would be desirable
