FT Recruitment are supporting our client, a global high-quality products distributor, to recruit for a Technical Internal Sales Representative in Aberdeen. Reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager, this role will support with large UK and Global projects for the business, as well as working to grow sales locally in Aberdeen. This is a full time, permanent position based in the city centre of Aberdeen. Key responsibilities of this role will include: Deliver expert-level technical support to clients, assisting with product specifications and resolving application issues as they arise Develop a deep understanding of each client’s business operations to identify needs and recommend tailored products and solutions Collaborate closely with the Sales Manager to craft commercially competitive and technically sound proposals that align with customer objectives Achieve performance targets related to quoting and order management, while ensuring customer relationship management (CRM) systems are updated accurately and in a timely manner Adhere to all internal sales protocols and compliance procedures to ensure consistency and accountability across processes Leverage enterprise systems such as SAP efficiently and in accordance with established company practices Prepare detailed proposals, including cost breakdowns, margin analysis, and technical specifications to create competitive bids Engage in direct negotiations with clients, customizing proposals and tenders to align with specific customer requirements Enter confirmed orders according to company standards and coordinate with suppliers to meet technical specifications and delivery deadlines Develop and distribute Bills of Materials (BOMs) and work instructions to support production and delivery schedules Offer guidance and assistance to team members, promoting best practices and consistency in customer engagement Maintain accurate documentation of all sales activities, ensuring alignment with quality management systems such as ISO standards Participate in customer meetings and site visits to strengthen relationships and secure future opportunities Identify and resolve operational challenges promptly, escalating critical issues to leadership when necessary Support the General Manager and broader team with the execution of both domestic and international projects Compile routine performance reports and contribute to data-driven decision-making processes Perform additional duties as required to support the success of the team and organization Experience and qualifications required for this role: The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role (minimum 3 years), with valves and/or automation experience preferable An understanding of oil and gas industry specifications is preferable An Engineering background – ideally mechanical or automation Excellent communication skills verbal and written Proven track record of working to tight deadlines Computer literate – ideally experience with SAP or similar in-house ordering system Educated to HNC level or equivalent A strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and key interest in grow with a business A proactive team player, dynamic approach to their work and who can work collaboratively
