An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Deputy Head of Legal Services. This is a full‑time role supporting the Head of Legal Services within the Trust's busy Legal Services Department.
Based at Fairfield General Hospital, the post will require occasional travel to other sites and to Coroner's Court.
Responsibilities
* Support the Head of Legal Services in developing and implementing core objectives aligned to Patient Safety strategies across the organisation.
* Assist in developing systems for Coronial Inquest preparation to ensure key lessons are learned after sub‑optimal care episodes, support families, and prevent Coronial Regulation 28 reports.
* Manage the Trust’s claims and inquest function to minimise risk, overseeing employer’s liability, public liability, clinical negligence claims, and contentious inquests.
* Foster close working relationships and promote a positive safety culture, collaborating with colleagues in Governance, healthcare professionals and external organisations.
