About the Business:
Housing First is an exciting collaborative programme being managed by The Salvation Army Nelson Tasman Bays Corps. Housing First provides rapid housing and wrap around supports to people experiencing long-term homelessness in Nelson Tasman.
Housing First recognises that it is much easier for people to address complex needs, such as mental health and addiction once they are housed.
About the Role:
As the Property Co-ordinator you will have a key role within a multi-disciplinary Housing First Team. You will be the main person to provide housing for vulnerable people and effective tenancy management for all tenants of Housing First Nelson Tasman. The Property Co-ordinator will have already experience in Property Management and will have knowledge of the local housing market.
What will your responsibilities be:
1. Oversee and assist with the process around the movement of clients into and out of the Transitional houses
2. Manage the processes and functions for all properties in the region
3. Manage client movements into and out of Transitional houses
4. Management of clean, well-maintained welcoming homes
5. Management of Transitional/Supportive Housing rent payments for the region
6. Manage house finding support
Our ideal candidate will:
7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
8. Good cross-cultural understanding.
9. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, sharing information, ideas and effective practices while maintaining client and service privacy, and confidentiality.
10. Pervious or current experience in transitional housing would be advantageous. Computer literate including Teams, Outlook and Office 365.
11. Able to relate to people with sensitivity, care and patience.
12. A strong understanding of, and a heart for, social justice issues.
13. Ability to work to targets and deadlines.
14. Ability to work proactively, problem solve and meet multiple demands.
15. Strong cultural competency, with the ability to work from a bicultural perspective.
16. A commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army.
17. Some knowledge of the RTA (Residential Tenancy Act).

This role is fixed term/full time - hours worked will be 37.5 per week. End date is 30 September 2027
The starting hourly rate for this role will fall between $27.77 and $39.92
