Houghton Regis – hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days a week in the office As a Lettings Officer in our Older People’s Service, you’ll play a key role in delivering a smooth and customer-focused allocations and lettings process across our rented specialist housing schemes in the North Counties. This role will be 2 days' site based, and 3 days working from home. Your typical day could start by assessing applications and coordinating pre-tenancy checks, followed by signing up a new resident and making sure everything is in place for a safe and supported move-in. In the afternoon, you might liaise with scheme managers to track void progress or contribute to a business improvement project designed to strengthen our service offer. You’ll be responsible for end-to-end allocations, from identifying suitable applicants through to lettings, ensuring we meet nomination agreement requirements, minimise void times, and maintain excellent customer experience. You’ll work closely with local authorities, residents and internal teams to ensure our homes are let efficiently, appropriately, and in line with regulatory standards. You’re organised and proactive, with a talent for communication and relationship building. You enjoy solving problems, keeping systems in order, and making a real difference to people’s lives—especially those who need a little extra support. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to travel within the region and feel confident taking the lead on service delivery and process improvements. To be a success in this role, you: * Have strong experience in allocations, lettings, and housing management * Are confident working with housing law, nomination agreements and social housing lettings procedures * Understand the needs of older and vulnerable residents and can adapt your approach accordingly * Are able to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively * Have excellent IT skills and are confident working with systems such as NEC/Northgate * Are able to write clear reports and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders * Can support and deliver small business change projects or service improvements * Have knowledge of GDPR and data protection standards * Hold a relevant housing or management qualification (desirable) * Can provide cover for the OPS London Lettings Officer during periods of leave Here just a few of the benefits for working at Peabody: * 30 days’ annual holiday plus bank holidays * Two additional paid volunteering days each year * Flexible benefits scheme, including family friendly benefits and access to a discount portal * 4 x salary life assurance * Up to 10% pension contribution PLEASE NOTE: As an employer, Peabody does not provide sponsorship as a licenced UK employer.
