Preston Lodge High School is a non-denominational secondary school serving the communities of Cockenzie, Port Seton, Longniddry and Prestonpans. Our roll is currently 1062, and the school is commutable from Edinburgh. We are finalising and implementing school improvement priorities and addressing attainment to make improvements more significant and consistent. We are focused on improving classroom practice, learning for students and staff, curriculum, attainment and equity.
We aim to diversify senior phase and explore alternative awards for young people. We have introduced in-school Foundation Apprenticeships, Home Rooms in S1, and are addressing disruption from RAAC-related building issues.
Job Details
* Teaching relevant subject through S1-S6.
* Undertaking duties as directed by the Head Teacher with regard to workload, including: teaching assigned classes, preparation and correction, curriculum development, assessment, recording and reporting, examination preparation, and administration support.
* Providing advice and guidance to pupils on educational issues; promoting health, welfare and safety of pupils.
* Working in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals; engaging in continuing professional development.
* Participating in school planning, raising achievement, and contributing to the wider needs of the school.

Relevant Qualifications
* Registered with GTCS as a teacher of the relevant subject.
* Permanent Posts: GTCS Full registration (General).
* Temporary Posts: GTCS Full registration (General) or Provisional registration.
PVG Membership
* This post is a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.
* All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to any formal offer of employment.
* PVG member records are updated; relevant information will be discussed prior to a formal offer.
