This is an excellent opportunity for a geo-environmental engineer to join a well-established Gateshead-based environmental consultancy with expansion plans. The team works on a wide range of technically challenging projects. You will be part of a ground investigation team, working on exciting contaminated land projects and receive the training required to further develop your geo-environmental engineer skills.

Responsibilities
* Site Investigation & Supervision: Oversee onsite investigations, including drilling, trial pitting and in‑situ testing.
* Contamination Assessment: Assess soil, groundwater and ground gas data to identify contamination risks.
* Reporting: Produce Phase 1 Desk Studies, Phase 2 intrusive reports and remediation strategies.
* Remediation Design & Management: Design and supervise cleanup works, managing materials and earthworks on brownfield sites.
* Data Analysis & Modeling: Use software to develop conceptual site models to identify hazards and risks.
* Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure projects adhere to environmental regulations, planning conditions and health and safety legislation.
* Client & Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with contractors, regulators and clients to provide technical solutions and manage land quality issues.
Qualifications
Strong background in geology (including a geology‑related degree), experience in contaminated land projects and a full UK driving licence are required.
