Director, Product Development, Click to Pay, Core Payments
Overview:
Mastercard Checkout Services aims to make payments simpler, more efficient, and more secure through scalable digital payment products like Click to Pay, Tokenization, and Authentication Services. The Director will shape the product roadmap and develop innovative solutions to scale Mastercard's checkout services, working across multiple product platforms with a focus on technology and strategy.
Responsibilities
• Lead solutioning for product discovery, exploring new technologies and market opportunities.
• Support pre-sales and partnerships through technical assessments and solution architectures.
• Act as a technical liaison between partners and internal teams, balancing user experience and system constraints.
• Translate customer needs into scalable product capabilities and architecture.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering, UX, and Legal teams to define technical requirements.
• Stay updated on industry trends, security, and emerging technologies in digital payments.
Qualifications
• 7+ years in product architecture, technical product management, or solution architecture, preferably in digital payments or large-scale platforms.
• Deep understanding of tokenization, remote commerce protocols, authentication, and PCI constraints.
• Strong knowledge of web technologies, APIs, cloud architecture, and service design.
• Experience translating product goals into architecture; experience with documentation or prototypes is a plus.
• Proven collaboration skills across business, engineering, UX, and research teams.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and influence skills.
• Experience in federated ecosystems or global deployments is advantageous.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments and meet deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
