An exciting opportunity has become available to work as part of the Children and Young People's Community Nursing Service (CYPCNS), within the home care service.
We are looking to recruit 3 enthusiastic, flexible and self‑motivated Health Care Support Workers (HCSW), for a new homecare package. Post holders should be committed to the provision of safe, effective, child‑centred, quality care.
You will work as part of a team supporting children and young people with complex health and support needs, who are technology dependent, within their own homes and wider community.
Under the supervision of the Nurse Team Leader, post holders will provide personal care and support families to meet their child/young person's exceptional health needs. We work closely with all partners across the health and social care partnership, third sector and education.
The delivery of care will be achieved after the completion of a competency based training programme. You will be given a robust induction and appropriate training to undertake this role, and you will benefit from working alongside a knowledgeable and experienced team.
Successful candidates must have experience of working with children and young people; previous experience with exceptional health needs would be advantageous.
Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of the wider multi‑disciplinary team.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme prior to appointment.
Please note this is a part‑time post. Salary is pro‑rata.
