We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at our clients team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quantity surveying within the M&E sector, particularly in the nuclear and water industries. They will play a key role in managing costs and contractual agreements for our projects, ensuring profitability and compliance with industry standards
Your Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Cost Management: Oversee all cost management aspects of projects, including estimating, budgeting, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
* Contract Administration: Manage contract agreements and negotiations, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and minimizing risks.
* Procurement: Coordinate procurement activities, including tendering, supplier selection, and contract awards, while ensuring value for money and adherence to project specifications.
* Commercial Management: Monitor project financial performance, identify potential risks, and implement strategies to mitigate them. Provide accurate and timely financial reports to project stakeholders.
* Variations and Claims: Assess and manage variations and claims, negotiating settlements where necessary and maintaining accurate records.
* Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, fostering collaboration and resolving disputes effectively.
* Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to junior members of the quantity surveying team, fostering their professional development and ensuring high performance standards.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices.
* Valuations, Monthly valuation preparation, forecasting and management
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field is desirable but qualification through experience is welcomed. Professional accreditation (MRICS) is highly desirable.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in quantity surveying within the M&E sector, ideally with specific experience in the nuclear and water industries.
* Proven track record of successfully managing costs and contracts for complex projects, delivering them on time and within budget.
* Strong understanding of contractual agreements, procurement processes, and commercial management principles.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
* Proficiency in relevant software tools such as Excel, and project management software.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment, with the flexibility to work remotely when necessary.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
