Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their in-house legal team. The candidate should be an experienced commercial lawyer with a focus on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The role involves delivering practical, business-focused legal advice to global business and corporate services partners.
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide legal support on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
* Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related matters; support day-to-day commercial and regulatory legal issues.
* Assist in managing compliance with applicable laws and regulations across jurisdictions and network policies.
* Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal support for their activities.
* Develop and implement governance and operational policies, procedures, and playbooks.
* Review and advise on new services and solutions, including governance processes and legal/regulatory issues related to technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI.
* Manage external legal counsel in multiple jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Provide practical, business-focused advice while managing risk and compliance.
* Deliver presentations and write articles on legal topics.
* Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
* UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or relevant in-house experience.
* Expert legal skills with the ability to lead complex legal and regulatory issues.
* Strong risk management and strategic thinking skills; able to identify issues and suggest mitigation strategies.
* Experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing transaction and commercial agreements across multiple jurisdictions.
* Ability to work independently and manage complex files, collaborating with business teams.
* Ability to balance the needs of a fast-growing global business with legal and compliance risks.
* Self-motivated, thriving in a fast-paced environment with global stakeholders.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
