Are you a recent Psychology graduate looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? Do you have a passion for supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs?
Teaching Personnel are recruiting for Psychology graduates to work as SEN & SEMH Teaching Assistants in specialist schools across the Stoke, Stone and wider Staffordshire area, starting this September.
These rewarding roles are ideal for graduates considering a career in education, psychology, social work, or youth support.
What you’ll be doing:
* Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN and SEMH needs
* Assisting with personalised learning plans and emotional regulation strategies
* Helping students develop social skills and build emotional resilience
* Promoting an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
* Taking part in training and professional development sessions
What we’re looking for:
* A degree in Psychology or a related subject
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
* Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals (preferred but not essential)
* A genuine passion for supporting young people
* Enhanced child DBS (we can help you apply for this)
To be eligible, you must:
* Have the right to work in the UK
* Provide two professional references covering the past two years
* Hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced child-only DBS on the Update Service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
