Design Manager - UK North Business, Manchester
The Design Manager will be responsible for coordinating the design elements and interfaces of specific tasks or projects, depending on size and complexity. They will fully understand and manage the design requirements of the tender/project, ensuring that the design is delivered in line with the programme requirements and reflects the budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities:
* Take ownership of 'design' related items within the tender bid process
* Produce the front-end design programme for inclusion within the tender submission, highlighting and explaining the key drivers and critical sub-contractors as necessary
* Advise on the selection of specialist sub-contractors
* Understand and provide solutions where possible, against the status of 'strategic design' items within the tender document, in line with JSS procedures including planning, building control, third-party requirements, brand requirements, etc.
* Present key design aspects at the technical settlement, including: summary statements on alternative design solutions considered, dismissed, or accepted; summary of design consultants and team; technical challenges; design risks and opportunities; contingency allowances for design development; Design Fees; overview of strategic design teams
Qualifications:
* Demonstrate sufficient experience as a Design Manager in a construction environment
* Degree in Construction or Design-related field
* 5 years’ experience working in the Civil Construction Industry
* Experience with Temporary Works procedures, PTS, NRs Design Approval process, CDM for Designers, and CDM Awareness
