Bohill Care Home is a modern, purpose-built facility located just outside Coleraine Town Centre, surrounded by countryside. Our home features 80 spacious single en-suite bedrooms across two floors, with gardens for residents to enjoy.
We offer specialised care across three units: Dementia Nursing, Dementia Residential, and Frail Elderly Nursing, focused on compassionate, person-centred support. With expansion plans underway, there are new career opportunities for those starting in care or looking to advance.
The Role
The Kitchen Assistants play a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our kitchens, delivering high quality meals and dining experiences to residents. The role supports residents’ wellbeing through high-quality, person-centred dining experiences.
Working as part of the Kitchen team, reporting to the Chef, the role involves more than preparing and serving meals – it also includes ensuring residents\' dietary needs are met and contributing to a safe and positive working environment.
About The Role
Main Responsibilities
* Ensures that all catering stock and equipment are correctly stored and accounted for in accordance with the company’s Assured Safe Catering standards.
* Delivers meals and other catering supplies to various areas within the unit in a timely and efficient manner.
* Under direction, assists with the basic preparation of food items.
* Ensures all cleaning within the kitchen, catering and servery areas (as appropriate) is completed and complies with the company’s Assured Safe Catering standards.
* Delivers and maintains a clean and tidy environment throughout the home, in line with operational standards and ensures that work processes comply with statutory regulations.
* Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Chef or Cook.

Required and Desired Criteria
* The Right to Work in the UK
* A good standard of both verbal and written English
* Previous catering, kitchen or food preparation experience
* Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
Desired Criteria
* Previous experience in a care home or healthcare environment
