Our client, a Structural, Civil, and Geoenvironmental company based in North Wales, Sheffield, or Milton Keynes, is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to work from their office with hybrid working options. This opportunity will help accelerate an engineer’s career by working with a well-established and growing team. Responsibilities:
1. Follow QMS procedures and internal design checking protocols.
2. Coordinate with professionals and contractors to deliver projects on time.
3. Manage smaller projects independently or contribute to larger schemes as part of a team.
4. Perform structural design calculations for steel, concrete, timber, and masonry to British Standards/Euro Codes.
5. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
6. Collaborate with other offices and disciplines within the company.
7. Supervise trial hole investigations and conduct visual structural inspections.
8. Mentor junior engineers and support their development.
9. Liaise with clients and design teams to meet project briefs, attending meetings as needed.
10. Engage in business development and contribute to fee proposals and tender submissions.
11. Support project management, ensuring commercial success and timely delivery.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Degree in Structural Engineering.
2. 5+ years of experience working within a consultancy.
3. Experience with refurbishment projects and hospitality.
4. Proficient in technical design packages such as Tekla, CADS, and Tedds.
5. Working towards or close to achieving Chartered Member status of ICE or IStructE.
6. Solid knowledge of relevant British Standards and Design Codes.
7. Ability to produce designs based on strong engineering principles.
8. Full UK driving license and own car, with willingness to travel to sites and other offices.
