The Role of our Deputy Shop Managers
Candidates should be commercially aware, motivate their teams, and create a safe and energised work environment. They maintain high standards, drive results, and are accountable for their business. The role is empowered, varied and busy, with opportunities to work with amazing people. Shop managers are pivotal for success and can delegate tasks to volunteers as part of our volunteer operating model. Our managers and deputy managers are comfortable in environments where they are often the only paid staff and enjoy working with others, delegating effectively, and engaging with supporters daily. Strong communication, creativity and community engagement are essential.

Key Skills and Competencies Required
* Ability to support development and maintenance of a successful, inclusive and diverse team that can maintain day-to-day shop activities.
* Commercial awareness with the ability to support effective retail processes and strong merchandising.
* Ability to work collaboratively with the Shop Manager, build positive relationships with colleagues, provide excellent customer service, and engage with the local community and other civil society organisations.
* Ability to demonstrate resilience to everyday pressures and manage conflicting demands, seeking support when needed.
* Numerate and financially literate, able to interpret basic financial reports, monitor budgets and maintain shop administrative systems.
