People and products go together at JCB – we need great people to make great products, behind every product there is an army of talented makers and engineers.
JCB has been a global front-runner in mechanical technology for more than 70 years—and with our new hydrogen-powered machines, we’re still pushing the boundaries. It means that, even though the way we work might be changing, wherever there’s work to be done, you’ll always find our machines. We’re still family run and, because we’re always innovating in new areas, we’re looking towards a bright future. Right now, we’re hiring Maintenance engineers who will help it run smoothly.
Overview of the role:
Working with a range of seriously impressive technology, you’ll problem solve, troubleshoot and drive improvement within our manufacturing function. We’ve just invested £4 million on new robots and fibreoptic lasers, which you’ll keep in working order, along with other specialised machinery. So specialised, in fact, that you’ll get to visit other countries where your skills are required. Call it one of the perks of working for a global organisation.
Another is JCB’s commitment to developing talent internally. Join us at Maintenance Engineer level and, by taking advantage of the training and development opportunities available to you here, it won’t be long until you’re moving up into more senior roles. At a company as large and diverse as ours, there’s no telling where you could end up—in a different department, in management or even a different country. With possibilities like that, no wonder so many of our team members have worked with us for more than ten years.
Reporting to the Maintenance Group Leader key responsibilities will include:
· Fault diagnosis and rectification of breakdown scenarios
· Planned preventative maintenance tasks and repairs
· Installation of mechanical services and systems
About you
· You’ll hold a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship and be qualified to HNC, or equivalent
· Experience of fault finding and repair of CNC machine tools
· Reactive and planned maintenance tasks on equipment in line with our targets and strategy of developing TPM
· Maintenance and service of pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems, machine tools, process plant and material handling equipment
· Working a variety of Shift Patterns and over-time as per business requirements
· The ability to plan and organise work schedules to meet deadlines
· Good spoken and written communication skills
Rewards you deserve:
This is your chance to join a company that values expertise not only in rewards but also in real employee care. At JCB you don’t just get a competitive salary, 33 days’ holiday and access to our company pension—you can also use our onsite gym, in-house doctor, dentist and visiting optician. We have an ULEV car scheme available for our employees too. Then there’s the JCB Rewards Hub, which gives you discounts with high street retailers. Feel like biking to work?
