Opportunity
You will be responsible for developing a detailed understanding of your clients’ businesses and the risks they face. You will proactively contact your clients prior to renewal, review their insurance programmes to identify any gaps in cover and, if any are highlighted, suggest appropriate means to mitigate these. You will handle the full renewal cycle and work with mainstream composite insurers, specialist carriers and MGAs. You will use strong negotiation skills to secure your clients with the most comprehensive levels of cover at competitive premiums.
Key Areas of Responsibility
 * Retain existing clients through active client management.
 * Build client confidence in BQI by demonstrating knowledge and service delivery.
 * Identify and contact potential clients, converting them to new business.
 * Network to increase awareness of the BQI/JMG proposition.
 * Communicate the firm’s proposition to clients effectively.
 * Generate referrals and make introductions to other areas of the firm’s operations.
 * Follow BQI processes and policies.
 * Operate within FCA rules and guidance as interpreted by compliance policies and processes.
 * Create and manage a pipeline of prospective new clients.
 * Collect fees and premiums in accordance with the firm’s processes.
 * Build good working relationships with the immediate team and all stakeholders, networking with suppliers and clients.
 * Achieve assigned sales targets.
What We Are Looking For
 * Previous experience as a Commercial Account Handler, ideally with 1–2 years in the industry.
 * Strong understanding of commercial insurance products.
 * Experience working to high standards of FCA compliance.
 * Consistent record of target achievement and business growth.
 * IT skills, including use of an insurance IT system, ideally Acturis.
 * Strong organisational skills.
 * Ability to work to a high level of accuracy.
 * Exemplary customer service skills with the ability to build solid relationships with clients and insurers.
 * Regulatory and compliance awareness.
 * Willingness to work towards Cert CII or already hold qualifications.
