Title: Senior Associate - Contentious Trusts & Probate 5/6+PQE

Are you an experienced solicitor with a passion for contentious trusts and probate? Our client, a prestigious law firm based in Dorset, is seeking a Senior Associate to join their Contentious Trusts and Probate team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Head of Contentious Trusts and Probate, managing and developing a high-performing team, and delivering exceptional legal services.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing Matters:
* Deliver high-quality legal service and client care, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
* Lead by example, promoting effective use of the firm's IT systems.
* Address client concerns promptly and professionally.
Managing People:
* Foster a fair, inclusive, and positive working environment.
* Mentor trainees and junior colleagues, assisting in their development and recruitment.
* Manage team performance and training initiatives.
Technical Expertise:
* Maintain advanced knowledge of relevant laws and policies.
* Identify and manage external experts as needed.
* Uphold professional conduct in financial matters per the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
* Define scope of services and establish transparent charging bases.
* Keep clients informed about progress and costs.
* Monitor and manage work-in-progress efficiently.
* Contribute to budget-setting process.
Business Development:
* Promote the firm’s services and actively market the litigation department.
* Organise and deliver client training events and seminars.
* Write articles for publication and enhance team profile.
* Represent the firm at external events, building networks and supporting colleagues.
Personal Attributes:
* Maintain confidentiality regarding client information.
* Exhibit a positive and helpful demeanour.
* Collaborate across departments to support overall objectives.
* Adhere to the firm’s values and policies.
Other Duties:
* Undertake additional tasks as required, contributing to team success.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Proven experience in contentious trusts and probate law.
* Strong leadership and management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage a diverse caseload with focus on client satisfaction and profitability.
