Embedded Software Engineer – Chesterfield
£35,000- £45,000 + great benefits

An established and growing client of mine are looking to expand their Embedded Development team, by bringing in an experienced Embedded Software Engineer. You will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and evolution of software used within the manufacturing sector.

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be joining a team that develop reliable, well-documented, and supportable systems. You will work across the development life cycle and be involved in testing, commissioning, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

1. Develop, maintain, and support embedded software
2. Integrate embedded software with electrical, mechanical and control system components
3. System testing, validation, and commissioning activities
4. Assist in improving engineering workflows through automation and tooling
5. Produce and maintain clear technical documentation

Requirements:
6. Proven experience in embedded or systems software development
7. Strong programming skills in C, C++, or similar low-level languages
8. Microcontrollers
9. Embedded hardware experience
10. Understanding of real-time systems and hardware constraints
11. Strong problem-solving skills
12. GIT / SVN
13. Desirable – Linux, control systems, Real Time Operating Systems, Testing, communication protocols
