Job Title: Shift Technician/Electrical Engineer
Salary: £41,224 (including shift allowance and on-call rates)
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 15:30 (early shift) & 14:00 - 22:00 (late shift)
On-Call/Overtime: On-call rota 1 week in 5 with additional payment for callouts
Role Overview
Join a dynamic team at a cutting-edge aerospace, defence, and security site, working alongside skilled engineers in a collaborative environment. As a Shift Technician/Electrical Engineer, you’ll be responsible for Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, fault finding, and assisting with building fabric works. You’ll play a key role in maintaining the site’s high operational standards and improving plant efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Complete PPM and reactive tasks to high standards
2. Fault finding on building services plant and electrical systems
3. Assist with minor new works and system refurbishments
4. Coordinate sub-contractor activities
5. Participate in the on-call rota
6. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures
7. Manage work orders through CAFM system
8. Assist with project-based activities when required
Qualifications
* Apprentice-trained maintenance electrician
* City and Guilds qualifications in Electrical Engineering
* 18th Edition IEE Electrical Regulations
* GCSE and A-Level education (desirable)
Ideal Candidate
* Experience in Facilities Management with a focus on PPM and reactive maintenance
* Strong fault-finding skills and understanding of electrical systems and building services
* Site-based role, so proximity to the aerospace, defence, and security site is ideal
* No driving license required
