A respected structural engineering consultancy, operating for 15-20 years, is seeking a Structural Engineering Leader (Principal - Associate Structural Engineer) to step into a leadership role in their South West London office.
This position is ideal for an experienced professional who can combine high end technical delivery with a commercial mindset and client leadership. The role offers a unique chance to head up the London office, take ownership of a significant client base, and directly facilitate the current Managing Director's focus on strategic growth and acquisitions.
Here, progressing to Director level is the clear objective for the right candidate within five years.
The successful Principal - Associate Structural Engineer will:
* Lead the structural team and take ownership of technical delivery in the London office, allowing the current Managing Director to step back from technical involvement;
* Act as the face of the business, building and maintaining key client and partner relationships;
* Manage projects and clients, building confidence so clients can liaise directly for enquiries;
* Lead the team around them, focusing on strengthening project delivery and leadership across the office;
* Take ownership of several key partner relationships within 6 months, becoming fully integrated and trusted by the team and clients;
* Be technically strong, commercially aware, and add real value in client meetings and design discussions;
* Work on high-end residential projects, including large extensions, lofts, basements, refurbishments, and heritage work.
We are looking for a Principal - Associate Structural Engineer with a:
* Minimum of 8-10 years of solid relevant UK experience in the structural engineering sector, ready to step in at a senior level;
* Proven ability to do the work and lead projects;
* Strong, outgoing personality, someone who can 'work a room' and network;
* Passion for improvement, ready to manage projects and clients;
* Background or interest in future project types: basements, refurbishments, retrofit, conservation engineering, and structural solutions for listed properties.
