Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Health Care Assistant to support our Outpatients Department at St Albans Hospital, West Hertfordshire NHS Trust, serving approximately 78,000-80,000 patients annually.
Working Hours
4 days per week, 08:00‑18:00, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist and chaperone patients attending clinics in the Outpatients Department.
* Set up and oversee clinics of varied specialties.
* Assist the Registered Nurse with specified clinical activities under supervision.
* Prepare and maintain the environment for clinical activity.
* Ensure the privacy, dignity and individuality of patients at all times.
* Promote safe delivery of care and provide leadership within the clinical area.
* Be flexible in the performance of the post, including clinics, hours and OPD site, and carry out other reasonable duties as requested by senior staff.
* Safeguard all patients, offering a chaperone when needed.
* Continually develop and update skills to accommodate an ever‑changing service.
