Senior Estimator - Housing Maintenance

Package: £85,000 - £95,000 plus car allowance, flexible working and bonus
Skilled Careers are working with a Tier One Contractor and as part of ongoing strategic growth, they are seeking a Senior Estimator to join the team in North London. This is a key role where you'll take the lead in preparing multi-million-pound tenders, helping to secure new business and influence the future direction of our Estimating function.
You'll work at the core of our housing maintenance operations, focusing on responsive repairs, voids maintenance, and compliance. A strong understanding of commercial modelssuch as Price per Property, Schedule of Rates, and Price per Repairwill be essential to developing competitive and cost-effective proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
Review Invitation to Tender (ITT) documentation to identify key risks, opportunities, and requirements.
Lead the preparation and timely submission of compliant tenders.
Present commercial strategies at tender review meetings and engage with senior stakeholders.
Work closely with Operational and Commercial leads to shape innovative service delivery models.
Analyse labour, subcontractor inputs, and delivery strategies to formulate the most cost-efficient bids.
Accurately complete client pricing documents.
Manage and mentor a small team of Estimators (currently two direct reports).
Requirements
The Senior Estimator must be someone who is a confident communicator with a strategic mindset and strong commercial awareness. You should have:
Demonstrable experience in housing maintenance, particularly in responsive and voids-focused workstreams.
Solid knowledge of bid development and pricing across various commercial models.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
