We are seeking a Qualified Family Counsellor (Self-Employed)

Off The Record is an independent charity based in the Havant Borough area and has been supporting young people and their families in South East Hampshire since 1977.
Young people are at the heart of what we do, and we aim to support the emotional health and well-being of our community's young people through one-to-one counselling and group support for 11-25-year-olds and their families.
Hours: 4-8 hours a week
Salary: £33.00 per hour

Responsible to: Counselling Service Manager
As a self-employed counsellor at OTR we offer you:

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
· To provide family counselling sessions, including initial assessments.
· To keep appropriate client notes, database entries and outcomes forms as required by OTR.
· To provide sessions throughout the year, including scheduled school holidays, or as directed.
· To attend and contribute at the monthly clinical group supervision sessions.
· Ensure that supervision guidelines are adhered to as laid out by your governing body.
· To work within the BACP / UKCP framework and code of ethics.
· To ensure that you have valid insurance cover in place which covers your work as a Family Counsellor.
Specific Tasks
· To provide a set number of counselling sessions per week as per the contract, for families.
· To conduct the initial assessments and to provide up to 6 counselling sessions for each family.
· To keep records for monitoring and evaluation purposes as directed by OTR.
· To act within the code and ethics of the UKCP / relevant body and to follow the policies and procedures of OTR.
· To carry out such duties and responsibilities as OTR may require from time to time.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
· Provide evidence of a Family Counselling qualification and completion of placement hours associated with the qualification.
. Have 100 hours of Family Counselling experience.
· Experience of carrying out initial assessments.
· Ability to build a rapport with the client and be flexible enough to adapt the counselling style to meet the clients' needs.
Desirable
· Experience with young person's organisations.
· Knowledge of or experience of working with the voluntary sector.
· Good interpersonal skills.
· Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
