Job Title: Brake Tester Engineer
Location: Essex
Salary: £28-38,000 + overtime
Mon-Fri, paid door to door
Due to very high work volume, there is as much optional overtime as possible in this role, and there is the very realistic possibility of earning @50,000 a year.
About the Role
Join one of the UK’s largest Garage Equipment Providers as a home-based Field Engineer. You’ll be working on a variety of garage equipment and be equipped with a fully racked van to provide a seamless service.
Your Main Responsibilities:
* Calibrate brake testers to ensure accurate readings
* Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure long-term performance
* Respond to customer callouts for equipment faults or failures
* Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical issues and perform on-site repairs
* Minimize equipment downtime
* Ensure all brake testing equipment complies with DVSA requirements for MOT use
Skills & Qualifications:
* Mechanical or electromechanical engineering background
* Experience with vehicle test lane equipment, especially brake testers
* Knowledge of DVSA regulations and MOT testing standards
* Diagnostic skills in mechanical, electrical, or software faults
* Clean UK driving license (for travel to customer sites)
