The purpose of the Front-Line Manager role is to manage the production process for the specified area and shift through effective team leadership, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, cost, delivery, and morale results are achieved through continuous improvement initiatives and team development.
The Front-Line Manager is accountable for overseeing activities that ensure food safety, integrity, authenticity, legality, and quality of raw materials, work in progress, and finished products.
What are the main responsibilities of the job role?
1. Understand the business and functional strategy and support its delivery.
2. Contribute to the development and execution of the annual functional plan.
3. Implement and embed strategic plans.
4. Lead continuous improvement activities for the area/shift with a pipeline of projects.
5. Recruit, train, develop, motivate, and recognize team members to optimize performance and productivity, using various leadership and coaching styles.
6. Manage performance using performance management tools, conducting difficult conversations when necessary.
7. Build an environment of trust and encouragement to support employee commitment and loyalty.
8. Manage and develop team performance through regular discussions, coaching, upskilling, and accountability.
9. Develop team for succession planning and career growth.
10. Direct reports include Line Managers, Tech B, MSO, Specialist Operatives, and Production Operatives.
