Overview
Our award-winning mental health charity is seeking a Governance Lead/Company Secretary. You will oversee governance and administrative issues, drive procedural improvements, and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, particularly related to charity law and funding agreements.
What You Will Do
* Support the Chair and Board to function effectively, ensuring compliance with procedures and policies.
* Assist in establishing governance policies and review their effectiveness periodically.
* Report on governance matters to the Chair and facilitate good information flow within the Board and management.
* Coordinate director/board member induction and training.
* Maintain governance documentation and support risk management and internal controls reviews.
Skills and Experience
* Knowledge of governance regulations, risk management, health & safety, information governance, and charity-specific guidance.
* Proficiency in IT and reporting tools, especially Microsoft Office.
* Experience working with senior management and contributing to policy/system improvements.
* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Personal Attributes
* Excellent planning and prioritization skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Effective communicator capable of explaining complex information.
