Overview
Blyth ward is a 26 bedded ward specialising in care of the elderly, specifically rehabilitation. The main duties of a Nursing Assistant on the ward include assisting patients with all activities of daily living, washing and dressing, promoting independence, assisting with meals ensuring adequate oral intake and general ward duties.
Responsibilities
* Assist the qualified nurse to give high standard of care of the patients on the ward.
* Ensure high standards of care are delivered and met on each shift.
* Work closely with the MDT and provide clear and concise documentation.
* Undertake a range of delegated clinical care duties in hospital, community and other settings.
* Record patient observations and changes to patient clinical conditions.
* Carry out limited clinical care duties.
* Work under the supervision of a qualified nurse and assist in the implementation of both direct and non-direct patient care.
* Provide and promote high quality care under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants who are members of the Armed Forces, and those who have a disability that requires support in the workplace will be interviewed under the Trust's interview guarantee scheme.
