About the Role
We are recruiting for a Pig Farm Unit Manager in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Our client is a leading and progressive business in the Northern Ireland pig sector, operating across multiple sites nationwide, specializing in birth to bacon production. Due to ongoing expansion, they seek a Pig Farm Unit Manager to oversee and manage the unit.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a 300 sow indoor unit, from birth to bacon
* Oversee the farm's facilities to ensure optimal conditions for staff and livestock
* Operate a wet feeding system for sows and growing pigs; all feed sourced externally
* Work with hybrid Danish and Canadian sows
* Manage a high-input, high-output weekly farrowing system
Candidate Requirements
* Experience managing livestock is essential
* Motivated, with a desire for continuous improvement
* Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
* Passionate about farming, detail-oriented, and capable
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Willing to learn new skills
* Basic English and Maths skills
* Good IT skills, including MS Word and Excel
* Punctuality and good time management
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: £37,000 - £39,000 DOE
