Job Summary

Clinical Lead – In‑Patient Unit (NHS)

Salary: £50,635 per annum WTE
Working pattern: 37.5 hrs per week (including nights and weekends as required)
Location: Camberley, Surrey (Farnham, Surrey from Spring 2026)


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Lead to work alongside the In‑Patient Services Manager and nursing team, providing expertise in end‑of‑life and palliative care. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care and support continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead and support the nursing team, ensuring smooth ward operation and high‑quality care.
* Lead daily management and support of staff, including 1:1s, appraisals, performance management and development.
* Act as senior clinical resource guiding practice through education, coaching and real‑time support.
* Deliver and facilitate training, competency assessment and staff sign‑off.
* Promote clinical documentation, assessment, medication administration and care delivery to high standards and statutory requirements.
* Lead quality improvement initiatives, audit and governance activities, including protocol development and CQC compliance.
* Support recruitment, induction, probation, workforce planning and retention.
* Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, cross‑service collaboration and departmental governance meetings.
* Uphold the NMC Code of Conduct and act as a professional role model.
* Engage with the DBS and safeguarding processes.


Key Qualifications

* Registered Nurse (Adult) with active NMC PIN.
* Degree in Nursing or related field (desirable).
* Recognised training in palliative or end‑of‑life care (e.g. EoLC module).
* Post‑registration experience in palliative, oncology or acute care.
* Experience in staff education and training.
* Previously held a clinical leadership or team management role (desirable).
* Masters‑level study or leadership qualification (desirable).
* Practice Assessor qualification or equivalent teaching experience.
* Ability to influence, motivate and support a diverse team.
* Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
