Overview
Field Maintenance Engineer role at AMH Material Handling. This is a UK-wide maintenance support position delivering top-quality support for automated material handling systems.
The Role
You’ll work flexibly across fast-paced environments, servicing and fault diagnosing electro-mechanical systems, supporting customers nationwide (often autonomously), identifying improvements to boost reliability and reduce downtime, advising on spare parts and long-term fixes, liaising professionally with customers and other AMH teams, and providing occasional project support and site-based reactive coverage. Pro-rata on-call coverage is shared across the team.
Responsibilities
* Servicing and fault diagnosis on electro-mechanical systems
* Supporting customers nationwide, often autonomously
* Identifying improvements to boost reliability and reduce downtime
* Advising on spare parts and long-term fixes
* Liaising professionally with customers and other AMH teams
* Occasional project support and site-based reactive cover
* Pro-rata on-call coverage (shared across the team)
What You’ll Need
* ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification with electrical bias (essential)
* Strong experience with automated systems maintenance
* Confidence working independently and fault-finding under pressure
* Comfortable with travel, overnight stays and shift flexibility
* Full UK Driving licence
* Proactive communicator with a can-do, solutions-focused mindset
* Strong English language and good communication skills

Location & Hours
Ideally based around Coventry or within fast access to the M1/M40 (e.g. Coventry, Daventry, Rugby, South Midlands). You’ll cover UK-wide client sites.
Core Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:00, with paid overtime (1.5x hourly rate), weekend and night shift flexibility needed. On-call rota: 1 week in every 3 (with £3,000 allowance and generous overtime rates).
