Role Overview
As theWinchester Swim Manager, you will:
* Deliver high-quality swimming lessons using theSwim England framework
* Oversee daily operations at the World of Swimming swim school based at Kings school, Winchester
* Supervise, coach, and support a team of Swim Instructors
* Ensure lessons run smoothly, safely, and to a high teaching standard
* Be the friendly, professional point of contact for families and swimmers
* Uphold our values and create an environment where swimmers and staff thrive
Teaching & Supervisory Hours
Weekly Onsite Teaching/Manager Hours (40 weeks per year):
Total Weekly Teaching Hours:13.75
Teaching/Manager Rate:£27/hour
Admin:13.75 hours per week @ £15/hour for 52 weeks
What We’re Looking For
* ASA Level 2 / STA Certificate(or international equivalent)
* Baby & Preschool qualification (bonus but not essential)
* Confident communication skills and a professional, friendly manner
* Strong swimming ability and up-to-date teaching knowledge
* Lifesaving qualification (preferred, but we can provide training)
* Passion for helping young swimmers progress in small group settings
* Natural leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and support a team
Key Responsibilities, Teaching & Customer Care
* Deliver safe, fun, and progressive lessons from beginners to competitive levels
* Create structured, engaging classes following the Swim England framework
* Build strong relationships with parents, offering feedback and support
* Complete new swimmer inductions and request swimmer reviews
Team Management
* Supervise and mentor Swim Instructors during lessons
* Lead pre-shift team huddles and cascade important updates
* Conduct staff reviews, training sessions, and performance feedback
* Manage rota cover and staff attendance, ensuring every shift is staffed
Operational & Administrative Duties
* Oversee the smooth operation on site in line with SOPs and safety standards
* Complete Supervisor reports, term planning, and KPI updatesManage swimmer movements, cancellations, and progress tracking viaSoakly
* Maintain equipment, teaching resources, swim hats, and progress cards
* Carry out facilities checks (temperature, chlorine levels, cleanliness)
* Ensure poolside areas are safe, clean, and ready before and after sessions
Health & Safety Leadership
* Ensure safeguarding, risk assessments, and H&S policies are consistently followed
* Lead by example in maintaining vigilance and responding to incidents
* Support safety drills, compliance checks, and staff readiness
