Job Description
We are recruiting ambitious, hardworking Civil & Structural Engineering graduates for our Bridges business line in Manchester, UK. Graduates will work on a variety of projects, from concept design to implementation, for clients operating locally, nationally and internationally. The role involves contributing to design, assessment and renewal works of bridge structures while gaining exposure to AECOM’s integrated range of services.
Job Responsibilities
* Structural design of bridge components using industry‑leading software
* Bridge assessment, including finite element analysis and structural inspections
* Structures renewal feasibility studies
* On‑site works supervision and scheme management
* Support the design of structures from inception to completion
* Contribute regularly to cross‑disciplinary teams and manage resources within a schemes of works
Qualifications
* BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering with a 2:1 classification (or equivalent) – or higher
* MEng or MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering is an advantage
* Experience or modules in Structural or Bridge Engineering is preferable
* Strong technical understanding of Civil & Structural Engineering
* Demonstrated interest in Bridge Structures Engineering and a desire to build a career in this field
* Willingness to work towards chartership with the ICE or IStructE
* Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Excellent communication skills – verbal and written – with the ability to engage clients, colleagues and stakeholders
* Enthusiastic, hard‑working, ambitious and able to prioritise work effectively in a collaborative environment
* Independent and proactive, taking initiative while working within a team
