Pharmacy Support Worker - Technical Services
Looking for an exciting new challenge within a Pharmacy Aseptic service? If you have a keen attention to detail, a flexible approach to working, good communication skills and the ability to work in a busy, demanding environment, then look no further!
We are seeking a Band 2 Pharmacy Support Worker to join our friendly Pharmacy Aseptic Team at our Grimsby Hospital. You will be supported in your development through our in-house bespoke training plan, which will include dispensing and the ability to prepare intravenous chemotherapy, parental nutrition and other tasks within our Aseptic unit.
The Trust opened a new high-specification Aseptic Preparation Suite at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby in April 2017, providing treatments for patients at both Scunthorpe and Grimsby sites. You will need to be enthusiastic, possess good communication skills, and, once you have passed our bespoke training programme (circa 12–16 months), you will progress to a Band 3 higher-level Pharmacy Support Worker within the team. Those with relevant previous experience within an Aseptic Service may progress quicker.
* Preparation and dispensing of chemotherapy, CIVAS and parenteral nutrition products within the Aseptic Preparation Suite.
* Assist with the delivery of the Clinical Trials service.
* Assist with the environmental monitoring and cleaning of the Aseptic Preparation Suite.
* Work flexibly to support the Trust’s directive of 7‑day working, participating in rotas and/or shift work as necessary, including weekend and bank holiday working.
