About The Opportunity
Gleeds has an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our busy and expanding team in Glasgow.
Gleeds has been successful in securing a number of major projects and programmes within the public and central government sector to support providing professional services.
With a strong pipeline of work, you will be responsible for managing costs and budgets of large-scale new build projects, as well as extensive CAT A & B fit-out works across Scotland. You will collaborate effectively with colleagues, programme leads, client representatives, consultants, and contractors on site to deliver projects from inception to completion.
To be considered, you should have experience in construction cost management, ideally with prior roles in cost management with public and central government clients. You must also be a British National (British Citizen from birth) as this is an essential requirement for security clearance.
Ideally, you will already hold SC clearance, or this can be progressed during onboarding.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Work autonomously and be responsible for delivery on all aspects of cost management and reporting from inception to completion.
* Engage positively with customers and develop, maintain relationships.
* Provide accurate cost estimates and budgets.
* Conduct cost analysis and risk assessments.
* Collaborate with project teams to meet financial goals.
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders and clients.
* Deliver high-quality services ensuring cost management deliverables meet requirements.
* Advise on and implement procurement strategies.
* Guide clients on preferred contract types.
* Prepare tender documentation and manage the tender process.
* Evaluate and report on tenders.
* Manage cost reporting and cash flow forecasts.
* Value completed work and arrange payments.
* Settle final accounts.
* Identify new business opportunities and drive growth.
* Support Business Unit Directors in achieving business objectives.

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
* Pre- and post-contract experience.
* Experience with NEW contracts is advantageous.
* Proven cost management experience in a consultancy setting.
* Strong skills in cost estimating and planning.
* Knowledge of construction methods.
* Understanding of procurement strategies, tendering, and contracts.
* Ability to work collaboratively.
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
* Methodical approach to work.
* Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and numeracy skills.
* Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Cost X experience is desirable (training provided).
Qualifications:
* Degree qualified.
* MRICS or working towards it is desirable.
