Utilities Technician - Electrical Bias

Role Responsibilities
* Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and fault diagnosis on electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, system panels, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
* Carry out maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems such as HVAC, pumps, motors, compressed air systems, and water treatment plant.
* Maintain and troubleshoot general building services, including plumbing, drainage, and building systems.
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant regulations, site procedures, and safety standards, while maintaining accurate maintenance records and completing required documentation.
* Work as part of a shift team, responding to breakdowns and ensuring continuity of operations across the site.
* Effectively communicate with the site team, client representatives, and stakeholders regarding maintenance activities and site issues.
* Identify opportunities for improving efficiency and reliability of plant and equipment.
* Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
* Identify and escalates complex issues to specialist teams or management as required.
Required Qualifications
* Recognised electrical apprenticeship or relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds 2365, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation).
* Proven experience as a Multiskilled Shift Engineer or Electrical Maintenance Engineer within a commercial or industrial environment.
* Strong electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
* Good understanding of mechanical systems and building services.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
* Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* A proactive, can‑do attitude with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
* Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern (days and nights).
Desirable
* Experience within pharmaceutical or regulated industries (e.g., food, healthcare).
* Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).
* Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
* 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
* First Aid qualification.
