We have an exciting opportunity to join the Operational Resilience/Emergency Planning team as an Emergency Planner, reporting to the Emergency Planning Manager, and working alongside 3 other Emergency Planners. This vital, busy & challenging role is ideal for someone who has emergency planning experience, thrives on having a large variety in their work, working in a planned way, but very quickly transitioning into a reactive response if we have an operational incident. About the role You will play a key part in the creatio n, maintenance and continuous improvement of our emergency response plans, processes and playbooks. This includes incident response processes, critical asset response plans, reasonable worst case scenario plans. Along with organisation risk-based plans, we have two key legislations that direct us. The Security and Emergency Measures Direction (SEMD) and the Civil Contingencies Act, so this role provides a unique opportunity to understand how we transfer this legislation into our operating pro cesses and response plans at both company and industry level The team work with external agencies and regulators to plan for and respond to water industry and community risks and incidents, e.g. Defra, Water UK, DWI, LRF’s, so this gives a great opportunity to learn about broader community and national Emergency Planning, by working with these key stakeholders We’d love someone to join us that can bring their emergency planning experience and a new view to our current processes, confident to suggest and lead on changes, as the team are always self-driven to continually develop and improve. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced emergency planner to join our team, that has: Knowledge and practical experience of emergency planning Flexibility to respond to changing priorities and incidents, with a requirement to work outside of normal working hours on occasions when supporting incidents A confident and strong communicator Ability to prioritise your own workload and make decisions in a p ressurised environment Adaptability to new and challenging situations and ab le to manage your own time Confidence in presenting and communicating to key stakeholders, both within the organisation and externally As you will be required to travel across the Anglian Region, you will need a driving licence, therefore the status of your driving licence will be checked You will ideally be educated to NVQ Level 3 / HNC or equivalent Closing Date: 03/02/26 Interview Date: TBC loveeverydrop
