The governors, staff and pupils seek two exceptional and dynamic teachers for temporary teaching positions within our school. Our successful and happy school is based in Penylan, a mixed residential area in the south-east of Cardiff, and serves a culturally and socially diverse urban community. The school is housed in a modern, bespoke, primary school building with extensive grounds, which have been developed into a thriving Forest School with outdoor play areas. Outdoor learning is important to us and every Foundation Phase year group has its own outdoor learning area attached to the classrooms. Howardian is a very popular school and currently has 432 pupils on roll including an 80-place Nursery. Around 16% of our pupils are free school meals and we are committed to equity and inclusivity, ensuring that all our children thrive in the learning environment. We can offer you a dedicated and hardworking staff, enthusiastic pupils backed by supportive parents and an active governing body. We are proud of our many achievements and awards, including being a Rights Respecting Gold award school, a Healthy School Phase 4 and a School of Sanctuary. Health & Wellbeing and Expressive Arts are particularly important to us, and we celebrate our talents through regular performances and concerts and by frequently taking part in inter-school sports tournaments.

•An excellent classroom practitioner with the ability to demonstrate high standards in the classroom and to motivate and engage young learners with a wide range of learning needs.
•Able to establish and sustain high expectations of achievement and behaviour.
•Up to date with knowledge of the Curriculum and the ALN code for Wales;
•Able to demonstrate a creative and innovative approach to teaching the Welsh curriculum.
•Proactive in their own professional learning and someone who shows initiative.
•Able to effectively work together as members of our strong school team and contribute fully to the life of the school including extracurricular activities.
•Able to establish and maintain positive relationships and to work together with all members of the school community
•Able to demonstrate effective communication skills.
•Able to effectively use the DCF and ICT skills to enhance children's learning
•Fully committed to promoting and teaching the Welsh language and ‘cynefin.’
•Passionate about the wellbeing of our pupils.
•Flexible, adaptable and well-organised.
•Enthusiastic, approachable and friendly, with a good sense of humour.
