Operating Department Practitioner / Nurse – East Theatres
We are looking for an Operating Department Practitioner or Nurse to join our East Theatres team. The role involves caring for pre‑, peri‑, and post‑operative orthopaedic patients across all aspects of the peri‑operative phase.
East Theatres specialises in joint surgery (primary and revision) and is the regional specialist centre for major spinal surgery. Elective spine and orthopaedic surgery is performed weekdays across four operating theatres, and a dedicated trauma theatre provides a 24‑hour, 7‑day service.
Responsibilities
* Care for pre‑, peri‑, and post‑operative orthopaedic patients.
* Support operative duties across primary and revision joint surgery and major spinal procedures.
* Provide on‑call coverage for trauma and spinal out‑of‑hours care.
* Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team and engage in learning new skills.
* Possibly undertake internal rotations to other surgical specialities within the theatre and anaesthetics division.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants should have excellent communication and organisational skills, be flexible, and have a passion for learning. Any experience in an operating department or related orthopaedic roles is welcomed.
